Hi

My old strawberry iMac DV has just died and I need to move the information in its hard disk to an eMac.

Obviously, as the iMac is dead, I can't use Target Mode via FireWire, so I guess my only option is pulling the IDE disk drive and connecting it temporarily to the eMac while I transfer the data.

Can somebody point to some detailed instructions of how to do this? Is there a spare connection available or should I replace the internal SuperDrive with the iMac drive?

Thanks for any assistance

I don't really know for sure, so you'd wanna look into this further. But can'
t you just buy a hard drive case for $10, and plug it in via USB?
