Applications have to be specially written for the OS they are to run on, as different OSs work in different ways. If those programs you mention have OS X versions then they should work with 10.5.

Limewire & Azureus do have OS X versions, but there are better apps available (look at Acquisition & Acqulite, Xtorrent & Transmission).

You can use many browsers on OS X (although personally I favor Safari) including FireFox (although it's not a "Cocoa" app, only "Carbon"... it just means you don't get to take advantage of some of the features of OS X). There is also Camino; which is based off FireFox, but built specially for OS X.

Any program without an OS X version, or equivalent, can be run on Windows through BootCamp (best performance, most hassle), VMWare Fusion (very convienient, good performance), or Parallels Desktop for Mac (good option if you've already installed BootCamp).

There are three main types of programs in the world:

Windows
OS X
Linux

Any program you use must be the version for the operating system you are using.

will certain programs that don't work on OS 10.5 ( e.g CAD software, most games etc) work on a macbook that is running windows through bootcamp or is it the actual hardware that effects it..

cheers

winows/ leopard

so how seamlessly does boot camp start running windows- can you keep files seperately on the two different systems.

does the windows OS run programs such as CAD soft wares and blender as well as a lot of games- or is it the hard ware that effects that?
