Hi,
I have a powerbook 1400 with a broken monitor (was stolen and then thrown out of a bus!). I can see the top part of the screen (about 2-3 inches) but that's just not enough. I am trying to connect it to a TV or my macbook to retrieve the data from the powerbook. I tried the S-video to the Sony Wega series but cannot see the screen. I don't know what cable I should use to connect to macbook.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

That just sounds like an old machine. I assume it doesn't have firewire, does it?
I would think you're out of luck unless the HD is a standard IDE laptop HD. If it is, you could buy a HD enclosure for laptop HD's and turn that HD into an external. It'd cost like $10 I bet.
