iPod Touch shipping...?

I preordered iPod Touch the day of the announcement. I know it has shipped to Apple's big store, but when do you think they will start shipping to consumers??

Online Apple Store says they will start shipping by September 28th.

Shipping date for apple online is 28th September I am wondering though if it is possible that they will be in Apple stores before then? I guess they will be but maybe not available to buy i.e. display only.

I've already bought mine. Many stores have them. Check iLounge or Apple Forums.

Not in the UK they don't but I guess they may have by next week.

why are they stores getting them before the people that pre ordered them on line the day they were announced. that is stupid!
