Hello ...

I'd like to take HDTV shows I record from my Scientific-Atlanta DVR Cable Box and put them on my iPod.

I've seen the Elgato devices, but would like to ask the experts if they have any experience doing this and what is the best route.

Thx!

My DVR has a firwire port on it, although its not yet supported by apple or the box company yet, i'm hoping it will be soon. Does yours have any firewire, usb, ports or anything similar? I would also call the cable company and see if there is available software for this purpose, because all cable companies are different and some may support this feature.

It has two FW400 ports and a USB 2.0 port on it...when i hook it up to my mac, it reads the DVR but I can't obtain any data from it. :(

I'll call the cable company tomorrow (Charter) and see what they say.

btw...it's a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD
