I have an older 17 inch white iMac. My specs:

2.00 ghz
1GB RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo

I would get the demo, but I have yet to get my copy of Windows XP, also I plan on giving my machine another gig of ram.

Your video card is more important than any other component when determining the ability to play games. Last I checked, the older 17in models had both an integrated and standalone video card option. Let us know which one you have and then we can better tell you whether BioShock will run on your machine.

Bioshock has heavy requirements. Your video card, which will need to be a fairly newer card to run smoothly, will be your most important investment into making this game run. I suspect you would need an ATI Radeon x850XT or equiv minimum performance card. 2GB of ram would be helpful if you plan to run applications in the background. The processor "should" work but I have little knowledge on gaming performance on this line of processors.

Bottom line: figure out the video card situation and you should be fine.
