Hi:)

I live in Australia and want to buy an Iphone off ebay. Now i have a contract with 3 (3G network) and want to use that simcard in it. All i want it to do is make and recieve phone calls and send and recieve messages. I dont care about the video calling and voicemail crap as i dont use them.

If i was to unlock it will it work with my 3G simcard?

thanks

3G isn't supported on the iPhone. Simply there is no 3G Antenna inside the phone.

www.iPhoneSimFree.com offers a software unlock go check them out seems simple enough.

To answer the question though, the iPhone comes with a 3G SIM card in it. So yes the card would probably work. The phone, however, will not work on a 3G network...

Minor correction. The iPhone will happily connect to a 3G network. It just won't utilize the 3G speeds. If you have EDGE in your area, it will run on that. If not, speed drops down to standard GPRS.
