G4 AGP display settings lost

HI,

Every 3-4 boots the monitor display settings on my G4 350mhz AGP system are reset, throwing the desktop into chaos.

I was advised by an apple tech that the old card was on the way out, so I replaced it with a new Radeon 7000 AGP card. However the problem persists.

I've chucked out the monitor preferences.

Any help appreciated....!

If it's your desktop preferences that seem to be lost, I'd almost hazard a guess that your PRAM battery is dying. It's about a $7 part.
