Game Problems

so ive read that macs have gaming problems
that you cant play many games on the mac

just want to clear it up whether its tue you can only use a fraction of the games out there or if you can use them all or what

on an intel mac running bootcamp, that meets the requirements of a given game, you should be able to run pretty much any "windows" game.

the selection designed to run on OS X natively is much smaller.

so you cant just install the game onto the mac without boot camp??

It has to be made for OS X to run on OS X or made for Windows to run on Windows. It's just that most game makers opt for Windows because the user base of OS X isn't very big. However, the OS X user base is getting a lot bigger and many big game makers like EA are beginning to make OS X versions of their games.

If there's a Windows-only games you want to play, you can run Windows via Bootcamp and play them. I play Counter Strike on my Macbook Pro and it runs really well. It would be more helpful to know which games you're interested in.

I have an iMac running boot camp and it has run every game I have tried fantastically well.

Intel OS X - play games for Intel Macs.
Power PC OS X - play older games for PPC Macs.
PC games - play any PC game on Windows, installed through Bootcamp.

If you're serious about games, install Windows and play PC games on your Mac.
