Hi Guys
I hope this is the right place for this question.
I have a NAS drive connected via usb to an Intel iMac. Upstairs there is a dbox connected to my wireless router. Both the imac and dbox have 192.168.1.xxx ip addresses.
The dbox can record using ftpfs, cifs (samba) or nfs, I am trying to use cifs and am having a problem mounting the nas drive. I think the problem is how I am naming the imac in the dbox recording setup, namely //my imacs name/NAS_Drive, this is where the volume name is required. The IP address is entered earlier in the setup screen.
For sake of confusion i am trying to find out how the volume/drive/whatever device is named across a network using samba.
many thanks
Mark.
