Dual CPU test for G4

Hi,

I'm trying to see if my G4 can take dual processors (just for interest's sake) - there is a little application UniNorthASICChecker.sit - found here http://www.macbidouille.com/news/2002-09-05/#3375 , which basically tells you your board revision - however the instructions are "just launch it" - sadly I have not been able to figure out how to "just lauch it" (yes OSX noob ) - I double click it and it says unable to open and gives me an option to "open with" - any suggestions?

You need to download the free Stuffit Expander. SIT is a Stuffit file.

http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html

Once Stuffit Expander is installed, click on that file again and it will extract.

After that you will have your application which you click on to run.

Cool. Apparently you can also use Cpu Director (http://www.powerlogix.com/products/cpudirector/index.html) - which is apparently more detailed, but is (as of this post) incompatible with 10.4.10 (works with older versions however - 10.4.9 and prior, and even 10.3.x).

The app Mactracker would have told you this info also.
