USB2 and my G4 Mac

Hello,

I have a G4 iMac

The model above. It has USB1.1 I was wondering would I be able to add USB2?

On the Lampshade iMac, I know of no way to add a USB 2.0 card. I am pretty sure there is no PCI slots. Unless there is some USB 2.0 to Firewire device. Will check around and get back to you.

Welcome to Mac-Forums, Retox.

As far as I know, USB 2 is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 so you wouldn't have any problems, I don't think.

Speed gains? If you are looking for faster, think FireWire.

Totally agree with MHC here. USB 1 or 1.1 is terribly slow for transfering large files.

Well i have a 160gig external usb2.0 HD... so I guess I'll just have to live with it
