Opening Ports For Airport Extreme

I need to open up a few ports on my Airport Extreme. Does anyone know if this is possible or how I would go about doing this?

I need to open up some TCP and UDP ports. Is this possible?

When you access the Airport Base Station there is a tab for Port Forwarding. You open the ports there. You can do both TCP and UDP. You may also need to manually open the ports on your Mac if the Firewall is on. It's under the Sharing Prefs pane.

I can't seem to find the settings on the airport utility. The only tabs I can see are AirPort, Internet, Printers, Disks and Advanced.

I have some external devices that need to access the net and they require certain ports to be opened up.

Select "Advanced" and then "Port Mapping".

I don't have a port mapping option on my Airport Utility.

Would it be that my settings need to be changed to show this option?

Do you have the Advanced option with the cogwheel?

Yep I do but the option was not there.

Yep I finally managed to get to that screen.

I had to change the connection sharing option from "Off (Bridge Mode)" to "Share a public IP address" A NAT option appeared and along with that same "Port Mapping" option! So far so good thanks guys.

My Mac's can still connect to the net but now I need to open some ports..... Can someone explain this too me. I have 2 devices that need to be allowed access to and from traffic from the following ports:

UDP - 80, 88, 2074, 3074
TCP - 80, 2074, 3074

I added one with those ports (I just copied those values into the Public and Private fields) and put in the Private IP address (they start with 10.0) of 1 of the devices.

I then tried to do the same with another device and I got a big orange exclamation mark saying I was not allowed to do that. Do I need to change the Private IP address to the private IP address of the router and if so is that address the same as the default host address 10.0.1.253 or the gateway address of 10.0.1.1?

Sorry to bump this up and double post but does anyone know what I need to do?

The gateway address of the main Airport should be 10.0.1.1 by default. I'm not sure why it would have told you it was not allowed for the second device What was the device and what was/is it's address?

Something to keep in mind is that every-time you shut a device down and then bring it back on the network it will draw a new IP address from the router (Airport). This is assuming that you are using DHCP and NAT to have the Airport automatically assign IP addresses as device join the network.

I'm on 10.8 and version 5.2.1. will not work. What can I do to get to that area to open a port?

verizon and airport extreme base station

I have verizon for my internet and was thinking can i use apple airport extreme base staion for internet and cancel verizon or i need verizon to airport extreme base station work.
