Ok, so I have a MBP and I know the speech function use to work. Seems to be recognizing my voice, but there's nothing in the speech commands window, so it won't do anything. Any idea how I correct this?

Same Problem

Just tried revisiting Speech after a while.

I'm having the same problem as the OP. I know the microphone works fine, is calibrated and everything is as it should be. The only problem is my Speech Commands window is empty, so it just doesn't respond to anything.

I can't right-click on any part of the menu for options or drag commands into it, so I'm assuming there's a script I should run to restore default commands or something. I suppose I can create my own commands, but I'd love to solve this problem.

Doesn't look like this post was put in the right place to begin with, so if this doesn't get response soon I'll repost in the proper location.

Thanks!

Will this not reinstall a whole pile of applications and reset default settings and preferences? Or will it leave intact anything that it sees isn't missing and only rewrite files that are missing?
