Is it possible to view how many people are accessing my wireless network and if so can it be done with a software i can download or a utility that comes with my laptop?

Your router's web configuration page should show you this under a page called "status" or "administration". If not, you should definitely have a DHCP table that shows you which machines have been allocated an IP address.

Reason I would say no is because they are logged into the router and it's the router that knows who is logged in. That is where I go if I want to know if someone is in my network that should not be. Hard here as security is tight, but nothing is 100% secure. Just open you web browser and enter the routers IP.

Would this do the Job? It's for OSX.

There is a Download tab if it looks good.

You can also get some basic Network traffic usage using Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder in OSX. Click the Network Tab.
