Coda is amazing, though it does not have any wizzywig capabilities like dreamweaver. Since I do a lot of hand coding, it has proven its worth to me. I've since said good bye to dreamweaver.

I do code by hand too, but after watching my friend using dreamweaver and being able to place pictures anywhere really fast just seems really appealing

You can drag and drop images with Coda, too.

Didn't we all discuss Coda and Dreambleeder before?

There are some free comparable products. And they are open-source!

Nvu: This is almost dead, I don't really know why. But probably Adobe killed them off...
Kompozer: This is the new Nvu, based on it. And with a few more extras. Like a CSS edit.

I have tried Dreamweaver, and nothing else beats it. That's if you do visual designing.

For hand coding, Tacosoft HTML Edit. Or Smultron.

I am 13 so I am learning to do it by hand, I would only buy Dreamweaver if I become a professional freelance web-designer. But then if you can do it by hand... Why bother with the extras?

Nick.

I don't wan this post to slip through the cracks.. its true dreamweaver is also a mac based program, so if you have been using dreamweaver for years and want to stick with it, then you can do so even though you switched to mac.
