Um, Bootcamp automatically configured my display as 1440x900.

Whenever I try to increase the resolution to higher, a bar appears and I have to scroll horizontally to see the rest of my screen...

Does anyone know how to bypass this?

What size is your monitor? 1440x900 is as big as a 17" iMac will go.

That's also the correct resolution for the 15" MacBook Pro.

You havn't told us what Mac /monitor you are using. Whatever you are using, you shouldn't be setting the resolution higher than the native resolution for the monitor. It is possible to damage some displays by doing this.
