After my miserable ordeal with the previous G3 AIO I bought on eBay, the new one I purchased is great! It arrived today, and it was just as the seller had described. Specs:

233 G3
256 MB RAM
4GB HDD
OS 9.1

This will be my secondary computer and a hobby machine that I plan to slowly upgrade over time. The first "upgrade" I've done is to modify the jumper settings to stock G3 266 specs, so it is now running at 266 MHz. More to follow... :D

Well that's great news! Finally after all that! I hope you have added some cooling now that you have slightly over clocked it :)

Cooling is still stock for now. My understanding is that this is the configuration that the 266 version of the G3 AIO shipped with from the factory, so I don't think there will be any problems. I'm not sure what upgrade path I'm going to take, but I've considered OC'ing it to 300 MHz via the jumpers in the near future, and then possibly going with a more extreme processor upgrade later on. If I go to 300, I'll definitely upgrade the cooling system. I actually found a site that sells pre-made jumpers for the 300 MHz configuration, and they offer different cooling options too. :)

Oh, and I have to admit for anyone who was curious about the machine's speed, I was quite surprised at how well it performs running OS 9.1 with the 256 MB of RAM and the 266 MHz settings. For everything I'm using it for (word processing, spreadsheets, internet browsing, email, etc.) it could easily be my primary machine. If anyone wants a Mac but is on a very tight budget, I'd highly recommend the G3 AIO. It's great as-is, and offers tons of upgrade options if your needs and buget expand in the future.

That all sounds like a lot of real fun and I'm so glad there is some honesty on ebay

Well, my second upgrade for the AIO has been ordered. It's a 4 MB VRAM chip, to bump the VRAM to the maximum 6 MB. Only paid $7.99 with free shipping, so it'll be a nice, cheap upgrade. :)

:D It's definitley turning out to be fun - just what I was looking for. One of the best parts is how affordable everything is. No word on the IIE yet?
