im new to mac so im asking for ur patience, i accidentally removed the littly springy osx system that sits beside the trash can in the dock.how do i put it back?thanks for ur help.

I'm not sure why you want to, all it does is take you to www.apple.com/macosx
But, if you absolutely need to have it back, simply open Safari and go to that address, and then drag the address icon, down next to your trash. That will replace the little springy button that was once there.
You can, of course, also put shortcuts for any other websites in your dock as well.
