Hi :D

I've bought an external harddisk and connected it to my Mac.
Unfortunately it won't let me store files. I don't have permission.
In the Info window I can see that I'm only permitted to read and do not have the option to change my permission.
Any suggestions to what I can do?

Could it be formatted for NTFS? Macs can't write this format. If so, use Disk Utility to reformat it to HFS+ (the native journaled Mac format) and then all will be well.

Macs can read/write to FAT-32 formatted discs but not NTFS. NTFS is read ONLY without 3rd party software.

You can reformat the drive on your Mac to FAT-32 by using Disc Utility. Make sure you select MD-DOS as the format.
