I cant figure it out...

I am certain that at some point I saw that you can make your docks icons like pan out, like vertically... kind of like the way windows programs work, where you scroll over it and it slides out, but I can not figure this out on my new Macbook pro... please help...

after further research, its a leapord feature... october please....
