I've noticed that my Macbook "creaks" from the bottom of the display when I open/close the display when it has not been in use for a while. It goes away if I move it back/forth but will return later.

I took it to the apple store and they said it's "fairly" normal for this to happen on the black macbooks, even going so far as to re-aligning/adjusting the display lid and the hinge is noticeably more fluid, but I still hear creaking/popping every so often.

Am I alone w/ this creaking on the black Macbook? Thx.

It's normal if you ask me. Mine does the same, even though it's a white macbook.

They said my screen was shifted to the right at an angle and my hinges are loose. Cost is 25$ for parts and free labor.
Ill find out more when i get it back

Just curious ...

Just curious ... What is it that causes it to creak/pop? I'm guessing it is the clutch cover b/c it seems to be where the cover meets the display lid on the back.
