Underscreen smudge on my laptop

I have a permanent (or at least I think it's permanent) smudge that appears to be beneath the LCD screen of my laptop. Any ideas if I can get this out? It's definitely not a burned-out or stuck pixel.

At this point, I don't even know if it can be fixed if I take it into the shop but UGH! It's annoying!
