I'm buying a white 30gb video on ebay. Some sellers don't specify if it's 5th or 5.5 Gen... some get confused when I ask about a search feature or brighter screen, so..

What's a very easy, fool-proof that sellers can determine the difference? Is there something written on the outside (by the serial number)? Or something like and "about this ipod" in the menu or something..?

If you are going to buy a new one in the box, the new 5.5 models have a Pirates of the Caribbean image with the Red Hot Chili Peppers album on the other side. The gen 5 iPods have the U2 guy and I forget what else on the other.
