Grr.. OS X acting stupid (clicked icons are ignored)

I have, next to my trash can, shortcuts to my home folder, /Applications, and my Documents folder. Randomly, out of nowhere, clicking those does absolutely nothing. Anyone else experience this? Going into Terminal & doing "killall Finder" seems to fix it.

I thought only Windows pulled this kind of crap.

Something may be in conflict. Happens to unix too.

Try removing them and re-add only one. Test. Then continue, etc

10.4.10, Mac Pro.

Didn't know it happens to UNIX as well, very odd. Guess it might just be a window manager fluke.
