That would be cool if they had a G5 iMac. I'm not so optimistic it will be. New form factor absolutely...probably one that could support a G5 iMac. But I would imagine Apple would want to get out a G5 PowerBook first.

Of course I wouldn't complain if the new iMac was a G5 ;)

And if they can do a G5 iMac, they can do a G5 eMac. I'd think the eMac would actually be easier, but what do I know, I'm a technician, not a designer. :)

On a side note, there's not an iMac to be found ANYWHERE from Apple. All the refurbs have been bought up, so your only choice for getting a current generation iMac is through a third-party vendor, and they'll be out by the end of the weekend. And I bet the market on eBay goes through the roof.

Gotta love the laws of supply and demand!

i dont think we'll see a G5 eMac anytime soon. the whole reason for the eMac was so there'd be at least 1 Apple computer under $1000(USD), affordable for the education market, hence the "e". its rare that apple makes announcements about new form factors. im not ruling it out, but im skeptical.

Don't think so on the design. Apple has used a dome, a cube and a triangle. What is next a pentagon.

No, a scale replica of R2D2 will be the next design.

Thought just occurred to me. Maybe a flat screen monitor with the cpu attached to back of it. You insert DVD and CDROM from side of the screen. Just think adding about 2 to 2 1/2 inches to the side of the Apple Cinema display.

Relax, I am just throwing ideas out there.

What I was thinking was a laptop that does not open up. More like a big PDA.
