I finally bought one because I just purchased an LCD TV and noticed a color difference between that and my iMac when I was using my TV as an extended desktop. I've only calibrated my monitor which I though was pretty close. Now that it's calibrated, the colors appear a lot more vibrant. My monitor was a tad yellow but the calibration made all the difference.
I recommend one even if you're just a gamer or moderate computer user. This screen looks better than new now!
