Help please - my finder is replacing it's words with code.
For instance:
The empty trash window has the 'words': A15, A16, and buttons: AL1, AL4.
In the 'get info' window ('IN1') it states: Size: 'IN_G1' - creation and modified dates: U19 -- More info: Last opened IN_MD5 U19, etc. etc.
Any newly created alias' name becomes 'N3' - and when I tried to create several aliases at the same time the system crashed (presumably because they all had the same name - 'N3'?).
The control-click/right mouse-button window is just a string of codes ('N151' etc)

There are other examples.

I have run a virus check (nothing), Disk Utility and finally applejack AUTO, but with no change.
Does anyone know what's going on? So far it is just annoying, but should I be worried?
Thanks.

Wow... those must be variable names that are not getting parsed into the values. Cool bug :)

Did you try restarting?
