Airport connected, No Signal

wuts up evrybdy... I have a powerbook with airport in it, I have a linskys wireless router 10 ft away. My mac tells me the airport is on and connected, yet I get no signal and does not even give me the option of joining my network, no networks even sho up. I have a macbook pro right next to it that is online wireless from that same linskys router right now as I type this. what am I doing wrong? is ther something I need to disable? pls help

Is SSID broadcasting enabled on your router? Perhaps there is some sort of network access list the Powerbook needs to be added to?

What is the specific model number for your Linksys router?
