Running a Bootcamp installation of Windows XP on Parallels?

I've been trying to find a way to run my Bootcamp installation of WinXP using Parallels. I would like to continue using Windows from booting up if I intend to use it for a longer period of time, but there are times when I'm working with OS X and I want to use Windows just for something quick. How can I use my existing Bootcamp installation through Parallels?

Newer versions of Parallels can use a pre-existing Boot Camp partition. When you create a new VM in Parallels, it will give you the option to select a Boot Camp partition rather than running the installation routine.

Open Parallels, click File => New.

* Select Custom
* Choose the correct OS type (XP)
* Set amount of RAM to use
* Select 'Use Boot Camp'
