Sims 2 keeps crashing, bounces a few times in the dock then nothing. Please Help!

Hello, I purchased the sims 2 and the nightlife expansion a few months ago for my powerbook g4. Both the game and expansion worked fine for all this time until now where it refuses to even start up. I have tried everything I know to try to get it to run again. I repaired disk/disk permissions, reinstalled the base game and patch then nightlife and nightlife patch again, still no good. Finally I did a complete uninstall (preferences, game saves, etc.) and just installed the base sims 2 game. Still nothing works. When the logo is on the dock it bounces once or twice and then stops.

A couple of things of note:
I recently upgraded to Tiger (yes I have the latest revision 10.4.10 as well)
I recently installed new fonts/a new font manager
I have a powerbook g4 with 1.25gb of ram and 1.5ghz Power PC Processor

I hope someone can help me with this cause i'm really stumped. I don't understand what the crash log indicates but maybe some else here can.
