Limewire

I'm thinking of downloading Limewire on my mac. I had it on my old Windows and it ran fine. Do you think it'll slow my mac down or cause problems on it?

Yes. Limewire is garbage.

BTW, you may want to take a minute and read our forum rules...especially the one about illegal activity before you get yourself in trouble. ;)

To be perfectly honest, things like limewire might get you free music, but the quality usually sucks, and its hard to find songs that are slightly rare. and its also a lot slower than iTunes. In reality, it is much worth the .99 for a song instead of dealing with a p2p program... and oh yea, its legal.

I did install limewire the other day, and it caused no problems with the computer, but i also removed it because i realized i had no need for it. Now go read the forum rules!

plus, if you do want your favorite artists to continue making music, you'll support them. even if the "big, bad record companies" get much of the profit, it allows them to fund more artists, especially considering that for every big selling act, there are 10-100 artists that "fail" economically.

Yep, it's not because you're a musician that you can't get paid for your work.

You lost me there. What do you mean?
Oh, and do you speak French, seeing as you live in Quebec?

Yes I do speak French, it is my mother tongue.

And when people download pirated music, does the musician get his cut on each downloaded tune? That's what I meant. The artist does not get paid for his work.

Yeah right. Tell that to struggling artists. They're not all U2s, you know.

absolutely MHC!
maybe 5% or less of artists fall into the "have too much money for their own good" category, and even then, does that make stealing right?
