Just got a new iMac, and i have istat widget running, telling me the temps of things inside my computer, and my cpu is running at 104 degrees ferenhiet, my gpu at 128, Hard drive 99...Those seems high to me, but then again ive never known what temps CPUs run at. Are these readings normal?

Yes they are completely normal. In fact those temperatures are relatively cool. My MacBook Pro runs hotter than that with almost no load on it, and gets much hotter with more demand on the processor, so you have nothing to worry about.

I think you are comparing your Farenheit temperatures with the usual Celcius temperatures, cause most reviews I've seen show temperatures in Celcius...

Right now, the average of across my 4 CPUs is about 135F, and that is fairly cool, it's gotten as high as 160F under heavy loads before.

I'd say you're safe....

As I write this, my CPU shows 55 C, or 131 F. Most modern CPUs will support at least 80 C or higher. You 104 F is only around 40 C, so your CPU is cool as a cucumber. No worries.

Thought I'd add my CPU temp. for comparison: 59℃ (I don't do Fahrenheit)

MacBook Pro; running Apps: Safari (2 pages open), Mail & Vienna, so CPU 95%+ idle.

My Macbook usually runs right around 135 degrees, I've had it up to near 180 before. If you want to control your fan speeds so they kick in sooner at lower temperatures, I would recommend the Fan Control preference pane available through MacUpdate: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23137.
