I backed up, then restored my startup volume so I could increase the size of my boot camp partition.

When I rebooted from the startup disk, I got this message:

System Extension Cannot be Used
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleLPC.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used.

I can't find any reference to this extension anywhere, and it's not on the OSX DVD. It's probably left over from some third party software package, but I don't know which one.

Ideas anybody?

How did you do the restore? The file permissions are possibly incorrect...

That file is part of the regular system I think, I have it too.

I used the disk manager to restore from a backup on a USB drive. I fixed permissions a couple of times, but now the disk checks out ok.
Still the same error, though.

Problem solved. The message went away after I installed another application.
The Installer must have handled it somehow.
