© is ALT/OPTION + G. Mac users call the button OPTION as opposed to ALT, but it's both. You can find out what does what by holding OPTION and just press every button to see what comes up. Try it holding OPTION and SHIFT as well. Print out a list.

I know in Windows you have to press ALT and type a series of numbers on the keypad just to get ¢, but on the Mac it is simply OPTION + 4. Also, some characters you need to press the letter twice, like ü. Press OPTION + u, then let go of OPTION and press u again.

Otherwise just use the "show keyboard viewer" from the menubar.
It's a really nice little thing (a keyboard shows up on the screen and you can see how the different modifier keys change the buttons.

To enable it, to go System Preferences>International>Input Menu and turn Keyboard Viewer and Character Palette on. Keyboard viewer will show you how modifier keys will effect the output, and Character Palette will allow you to search for specific symbols, view all possible symbols and see which fonts they're available in (and how they look with each). Very handy, and it just shows up as a little flag in the Menu Bar.

Where is this feature? I see the "Special Characters" under the Edit Menu.

Sorry for not being precise.
But there is a really precise explanation right after my suggestion.
