Currently I am running windows xp in parallels. I would like to install Windows Vista. Do i just reformat it over xp? Or would it be better just to keep xp and not deal with installing Vista.

any suggestions would be great

Thanks!

If XP works for you and you don't need any of the features of Vista, I would say just keep it. Vista is far more resource intensive than XP - and if all you're using it for is to run the occasional Windows program, you'll be fine.

If you want to install Vista, I would delete the existing VM (open Parallels, select your Windows XP VM and then click the File menu and Delete). Then start a new VM and choose Vista as the OS type. I would strongly advise against doing an in-place upgrade.

Why not just create a new image, install vista, then when you have everything working to your satisfaction you can delete the XP image.
