Screen Saver Problems....annoying

my macbook is only a couple weeks old. ive had the itunes album art as my screen saver for a while, but want to change the number of columns that appear.

when i go to the system preferences, and to the screensaver, an error pops up and i can not change/ open screen saver options.

my sister, same macbook, has had a similar problem.

any advice ?
