How do I add people in my address book?

I know I can add them when i get email from them but how do I add them otherwise?
In Outlook I could just add them anytime.

Open "Address Book" in your /Applications folder.
You can manage groups here, add avatars, keep notes, etc.

Yes, open address book and then press the "+" at the bottom of the name column. Also to edit a contact, select the contact and press the "edit" button on the bottom.
