Importing Video To iMovie HD

Hiya when i get my new smexy macbook, I would want to import video off my digital camcorder.

It is an old DV camcorder about 4 years old.

It came with a USB cable.

Is it as simple as

Plug in the USB to both ends, and import?

I think so, but with USB it's going to be slow. Are you sure there isn't a Firewire cable with it?

How slow? I wouldn't know. It depends, if you're going to import gigs of data or not. I think you're just going to have to wait and see when you get your lovely Mac...
