Want an AiO that lets me print black if color is "out"

Been searching for and aio - fax not necessary - that will still print black if one or more of the colors run out. A friend just bought what seemed like a very nice Brother, until her yellow ran out and she can't print anything, and another friend has an HP that does the same thing.

I'd appreciate any suggestions offered. TY.

It's not the type of printer but what you do when you select print.
This should work with any printer.
File: Print.
In the drop down box where it says copies and pages select paper type and quality
Where it says colour select grayscale and then you can choose to print from the black cartridge only.
