Remote Desktop and sharing files between Macs

Hi there.

Is there a way to connect my 2 Macs together via a wireless network?

I would like to share files between the 2 Macs. I would also like to dial in/connect to my one of my Mac's (i.e. via Remote Desktop) if this is possible.

I believe you'll need a wireless router to do that.

Sorry I should of mentioned I have a wireless router and a wireless setup (I currently connect to the net via a wireless router).

I should also mention I would like to be able to do this without the need to spend money on extra programs

For remote access, you might consider LogMeIn

All you need to share files and remote control is here:
System Preferences > Sharing

logmein is very slow. I suggest you use the built in VNC server (system preferences > sharing > remote desktop), and use a free VNC viewer to control remotely.

Thanks. Do you have a good and easy VNC viewer I could use?

There are others, too. Experiment with a few until you find the one you like.
