Would you be willing to help with IE issue?

I've noticed that when people post about difficulties with web sites
appearing correctly on Mac IE, others generally just say "don't worry
about IE". I understand. But is there anyone here who would take a
look at the link for this "biography" page I'm working on and tell me
why the text in the table is invisible on Mac IE, but shows up on all
other browsers? (It's not just my IE, every Mac user I've talked to
today can't see it on their IE, but every PC user can.) I would really
appreciate it if you would check the link below and view the source
page. The text appears in a table that I've centered so that it appears
the same for any screen resolution. It has an overflow and scroll bar.
It looks fine on every other browser and fine on PC users' IE. Only
Mac IE users can't see it. Can you see anything about it that might be
changed to correct this problem? I'd like to fix it before I show this
to the site owner (who's a Mac user and has IE).

I don't wanna seem negative, but the use of IE should have stopped by now. In windows, your info is in serious danger with it, and in Mac there is no reason to use it IMO Plenty of backing in any number of PC magazine websites

Get rid of the styles in the paragraph tag at the very beginning and then reload, if it shows up, then add each of them one by one until you find out which one is causing the problem. Since Im pretty sure it has to do with the inline styles that you are using.

Thanks, Murlyn! Apparently, it's the "overflow" thing, which is
really a bummer, because using <DIV> to achieve it cancels out
the "align=center" and "valign=middle" in the <TD> tag, which
is allowing the whole page to center regardless of screen
resolution. Another long night.... *S*

I hear you, Witeshark, it's just that my client has IE and needs to
see what I've done. *heavy sigh*

Some sites require IE. Everything on OS 9 is crap, so they use IE because it doesn't crash *cough MOZILLA cough*
IE isn't dead yet.

Well, I do have one question, at the risk of repeating
myself. :) Is there anything about my coding that could
be changed so that my client, who uses IE can see the work
that I've done on her site? I do understand the whole Netscape,
Safari vs. IE thing, I've used nothing but Netscape for years.
But my client doesn't and as a result, I'm starting to sound like
a parrot here who only knows one sentence.

Use an iframe, or use a textarea field, or hmm...

I use Mozilla firebird as my main browser. There are however like you said websites that will not work properly or will not work at all using anything other than IE. There is still a need to have IE on your system.
