Heya,

as I see advertised in the US Apple store, you get a free iPod nano,

So I wonder, do you also get that in Dutch stores?
Any way I can find that out, or is this free iPod just US only?

Thanks!

USA Only, I actually wasn't buying a Mac but walked into a store to ask some questions about buying on in the future and asked about the discount and the ipod. The person I was working with told me all I needed was something to tie my to a university in the US. I presented my ISIC card (which has my University on it) and she said they wouldn't accept it because it was an 'International ID card" even after I pointed out that it had my home university.

BTW if you want to take advantage of the Student discount, when I bought mine and my wifes iBook a couple years ago they never checked to make sure I was actually a member of my university. That may have changed but I can see people abusing it.

when i called to order my macbook all they asked me was my name, the college i attend, and the city/state of where the school is. i figured he would have asked me for a school email address or something, but he didn't. i figured it would be pretty easy for anyone to get the student discount if that was the only things they asked you!

At the local Apple store, I had to bring my son and he had to show his university id.

Note that there's also the education discount (not as good as the college deal) and being on a school board, home schooling and some other categories qualifies.

We put down home schooling for our PowerMac and they never questioned us on it.
