Leopard will offer TimeMachine but it still remains to be seen if this feature will work only for files on your hard drive or if you can set it up in a way that the whole system installation can be reverted.
But for now, for either updates for the OS or third-party software, you're out of luck if you didn't perform a backup of your system before updating.
Unless someone here has an idea that escapes me at the moment.
