why is .aif so big ! ?

i imported now 67 i think it is double cd and the files imported as .aif and they are about 30mb's each ! why so big ?
any help would be apreciated

.AIF is just like .WAV and uncompressed. Uncompressed music files are very large. There is no issue. MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG are all compressed and that is why they are a lot smaller.

ok so how can i import it as an mp3 or a smaller format (im using iTunes.)

Change your iTunes import settings in the preferences. (See attachment below)

Then highlight the tune in your playlist you want to convert, go to the menubar Advanced item and select Convert Selection to MP3.

haha its worked ! thanks. I had to delete the old files but its all good.

from 1.55gb to 180mb !
