A list of accessories I think are very useful to students (college, university):

-a mobile, comfortable, good mouse (like the Logitech VX Revolution)
-a screen protector (Crumpler the Slip)
-USB Hub is a must (at least 4 ports, Belkin USB hub)
-a sleeve (Tucano Second Skin, incase Neoprene Sleeve)
-a nice bag/backpack (incase Sling pack)
-a good keyboard (macally ikey5 or the apple keyboard)

I guess that was it. This is my list of important stuff to have for your Macbook I think.
Hope it was helpful. To some of the products I have already written a review if you're interested.

My list of accessories would be:

Case/Bag

External mouse & Keyboard (much more comfortable)

Speakers (laptop speakers always suck)

Printer/Scanner (I just got the Lexmark X5470 for £50 which I'm very happy with)

FireWire Hard Drive (but then, my media library is 250GB... I dunno about yours)

USB hub (I have 11 USB ports on my PowerMac and it's still not enough)

I'd also get a second monitor; I couldn't work on a 13" screen for too long.

Point for him, whohoo :p
(sorry)

Well I think most handy things are suggested,

But no one ever mentioned a HEADSET! (or am I that stupid that I don't know it's included in the MacBook set? :p ) haha

And since I do not know what you are going to study out there, might be nice to mention becuase it could come with more accessories

Thanks, A headset is a good idea so i can talk to the people i will be away from while im there! I will be studying Computer systems security.

Hard drive is a good one, i will order one later today. Speakers are also on the list.

Im going to get a carry bag for it, but is one of the sleeve protector things worth it?

I'm also going to college, except with a Macbook Pro, and many people are telling me to get an external hard drive, and a UPS, which, if you're not familiar with it, is a way to safeguard your hardware in the case of a power surge or blackout.

I think the External Hard Drive is very useful to bring your projects to your school without bringing your entire MacBook,

plug-and-play fun
