Cordless Mouse with receiver?

Hi experts,

I was wondering if anyone here is using a mouse with a USB receiver on the MacBook. I haven't never have a wireless mouse before, so...any help is really appreciated!!

2.16GHz C2D MacBook w/ 2GB RAM & 120GB HD. HTC Droid Incredible.
I am using a Microsoft 3000 Optical Notebook Mouse. It has the USB receiver. Works great on the Mac. I may purchase a mighty mouse though so I can have the clean look without the USB receiver.

MBP 15", 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, OS X 10.8.2, iPad 1, 80gb iPod, ATV 1, iPhone 5
I am using logitec wireless trackball and keyboard. I only use them (more so the trackball) while at my desk. I don't take them with me when I go places.
