ram/memory upgrade question. help please.

i got a black macbook (160gb/1gbram/2.16) and i was thinking about upgrading the ram. my question however is about what to get and what to replace exactly.

now that you know what the specs are, how much more memory can i add to my macbook and what do i need to buy to get that? cause i've read in some posts that the ram is divided in two blahblahblah.. things i'm barely new to (don't know much about hardware). so how many memory sticks do i need to buy or how does it work? i'll really appreciate your help!

your mac comes with 2 x 512mb (sticks) that equal the 1gb in your macbook... The max you can have is 2 x 1gb (sticks) of memory... When buying memory, by 2 x 1gb 200-Pin DDR2 DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) so-dimm... One option, and alot of members on this site recommend it, is to buy the memory from this site.. http://www.newegg.com/

The has been on a lot of different thread. The macbook can utilize up to 3.4gb but it is a waste. The advantage will be slim. If you want to upgrade, you need 2gb rams in the form two 1gb stick. The exact wording will 2gb (2 x 1gb) 200 pin PC5300 ram.
