It may be possible, but I suggest not doing that unless you want a iBook/fireplace combo :p

It is possible.. but it will melt your screen :) so I won't tell you :D and it probably voids warentee

Apple don't allow it because it will end up damaging something like the screen or it will overheat :(

I'll tell you...
There is an app called "KisMac" and it is used for wardriving. Download that, and in the preferences there is an option called "Keep computer awake when running KisMac." Read the warnings though...

If left on with the lid closed you might return to your ibook to find
1) a warped lid
or
2) a squishy case
or
3) a runny heap of goo...

apple make the ibook turn off with the lid closed for a reason...

There is a program called "screen spanning doctor" used to be available at versiontracker.com but can be found here http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html it allows you to do true dual display as well as not sleep when shut, it does say that it will cause a heat build up, but if you want to do it, it is your machine.

Or maybe it's just me?
