I downloaded the 30 Day demo of iWork to test primarily to test the compatibility between Microsoft Word and Pages. I am a graduate student, so I primarily use Word for academic writing. I also use the change tracking feature of Word in class notes and study guides.
In the limited amount of time I have had with the demo so far, every file has converted perfectly. All of my footnotes and formatting were converted correctly, and the change tracking worked as well. I then made some changes in Pages and saved the file as a Word file, and that worked perfectly as well. Word properly showed what changes I had made and the user name I used to change them.
If the Word 07 conversion works as well as the .doc conversion did, Apple may have a real winner on their hands!
